 Photo: Karlyn Robinson collection

Known children in the photograph are:

2nd row from  back and  at the end of the row with hat askew is Edwards ‘Ted’ Joseph Edwards. In the same row and two along from Ted , the small boy with the striped short and cap, is Norman George Edwards.
Towards the front and on the right, the girl with dark pigtails, kneeling and wearing a whitish dress is Mary Ida Edwards. Kneeling next to her and with hands folded is Leila Frances Edwards.

The above are children of George William Edwards (1884-1957) and Esther Ann Steinhour (1890-1976).
The Edwards family moved to Clandulla  from Coonabarabran around 1919 and around 1928 moved to Kandos.

George was employed by the NSW State railways as a fettler. To help bring in a little more money, Esther worked at the gate houses at Charbon and Kandos, her job being to open the gates to let the trains in and out.
